Java
A programming language developed by Sun Microsystems for use on the World Wide Web.
Javascript
A programming language developed by the European Computer Manufacturers Association (E.C.M.A.) for use on websites; it is not related to Java. Javascript is relatively small and fast, and may be the most common language used for providing interactivity on websites.
Juice
Slang term referring to a beneficial result of search engine optimization, for example, “if we do this, we’ll get more Google juice.”

Keyword Effectiveness Index
Keyword or Search Term
A word or phrase used to find something using a search engine.
Keyword Density
A measure of the number of times a keyword occurs within a web page’s text divided by the total number of words on a web page.
Keyword Prominence
A measure of how high up on a web page a keyword appears.

LAMP
A website that uses Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Python/Perl — as in “I need a LAMP website.”
Lead
A unique visitor that has come from a click-through from a campaign source. A unique visitor is regarded as a lead only upon the first visit to your site. A lead may click-through to your site multiple times, but is still considered a unique lead.
Link
Occasionally called “hyperlinks” and "hotlinks,” links are the foundation of the World Wide Web. As new content is added to a website, it is gradually "attached" to the Web by website owners who discover the content and link to it.
Link Popularity
The number of sites which link to a particular site. Most search engines use link popularity as a factor in determining the search engine ranking of a web site. The higher the link popularity, the higher the ranking. multiple times, but is still considered a unique lead.
Mashup
A Web service that combines data from more than one source into a single integrated too, for example Google maps to which fire data has been added. A mashup creates a new Web service with information that was not provided by the sources used to create it; the whole is greater than its parts.
Metatag
An HTML tag that gives information about the content of a web page. Includes title tag, description tag and keyword tag, among others.
